The 10.8 acre park site is located off Sutter Avenue (between Marshall Avenue & Hollister Avenue). It backs up to the 8.8 acre Jensen Botanical Garden, located at 8520 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael. The revised Carmichael Recreation and Park District (CRPD) Master Plan no longer lists parts of the park as surplus property to be sold, instead it includes a two phased approach without the sale of any park land:

Phase 1, will improve the existing parking lot on the Sutter side (E&F) next to the community garden (A) and add a trail system to the west side of the park (H) connecting to the Jensen side (at T), with its Botanical Garden, Path for the Blind and Garfield house.

Planned for 2012 with estimated costs of $100,000.00, half of which needs to be raised by our community in money, grants or services - that's what we aim to do and YOU can help: sponsor a piece of the trail, help write a grant, reach out to neighbors or donate your services to make Phase 1 a success while enjoying our beautiful neighborhood with new friends!!

Phase 2 will add the remaining features of the Master Plan, when more funding becomes available.

Donations to the Carmichael Recreation and Park District Foundation are deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (for details talk to your tax advisor).
